Albert Moncasi's ability makes him a player that any team would wish to have after his first year at the club saw him flourish as he learned his trade at the highest level.
The youngster has already won the Junior European Championships with Spain in 2004 and helped
the Blaugrana wo win the Copa del Rey and finish as runners-up in the ACB League at the end of the
2006/07 campaign.
The new season is the first time that Albert Monacsi will play as a professional. The pivot
has risen up through the ranks and has finally earned himself a spot in the AXA FC Barcelona first
team squad. Moncasi's main role is defensive duties and and he has been given a chance to show what
he can do thanks to the squad rotation that the coaches have, but now he has a chance to really
show what he can do.
Last term was a key season in his career as he combined training with the Blaugrana first
team while playing for WTC Cornellà in the LEB-2 League (this year known as the LEB-Silver). He
made his official debut for AXA FC Barcelona in the Euroleague encounter with Polish outfit Prokom
on February 27, 2007 in the Palau Blaugrana and he netted his first two points for the club from
the free-throw line.
On May 27, coach Dusko Ivanovic recalled him to the side for the fourth match of the quartet
of games against Akasvayu Girona in the ACB League Play-oFfs. Moncasi recorded a rebound just 59
seconds after coming on.

Albert Moncasi is an agile pivot who has a strong physique and has shown throughout his time
in the Barça youth teams that he is accomplished in various positions. His shooting from close
range is improving rapidly and he is also strong on rebounds as well winning the ball under the
hoop.
