FC Barcelona's youth basketball teams have completed a great season as the juniors and cadets both won the Spanish championships and the infantils came very close to glory.
The youngest team in the Blaugrana's ranks looked on course to complete a unique treble for the
club, but at the end of an extraordinary campaign they were beaten by Joventut of Badalona 55-68 in
Asturias. While the infantil side won the Catalan title and reached the Final Four unbeaten they
fell at the last hurdle.
For the youngest team the highlight came as they beat Real Madrid 55-43 in the Tres Cantos
International Tournament.
Infantil B also had made a good showing in the league as they finished second in the table
having suffered just two defeats in the entire season. Joventut were the eventual winners.
The cadets shone as they secured the Spanish championship. Josep Pérez and Alexandr Zighulin
stood out for Bernat Magrans' side. The second years side slipped up in the final of the Catalan
Championship, losing by just two points, 73-71.
Alex García's junior outfit also won the Spanish title as they beat Gran Canaria 68-62 in the
final.
