After winning the Liga Catalana in pre-season Barça Regal another main objective before the official start and they were able to achieve it as the team lifted the Super Cup.
Focussing on working hard, regaining fitness and sharpness and rediscovering the rhythm were all
key in pre-season for the basketball team and things were made perfect as the collection of
silverware also increased.
The Centro Insular Deportes de Las Palmes has not proved to be a happy venue for Barça in the
past so they were wary heading south to face Gran Canaria 2014 in the semi finals.
Fortune was on their side however as home advantage was not enough for the Canary Islanders
as the Catalan visitors showed great consistency and strength at such an early stage to chalk up a
51-74 win.
Real Madrid awaited in the final for the first clásico of the season and the game was intense
