Rubén Iván Martínez Andrade

This young goalkeeper is one of the most promising youth players at FC Barcelona. He came to the club from SD Orillamar in Coruña before the start of the 1997-98 season aged just 13 years.

Before coming to Barça, he had played for FC Bregantiños (1994-95 and 1995-96) and the aforementioned SD Orillamar (96-97).

A youth and Under 20 international, Rubén came up through the youth structure until eventually reaching Barça B. Since Rüstü went on loan in 2004-05, he has been handed the role of third choice first team goalkeeper behind Víctor Valdés and Albert Jorquera. He combines this responsibility with defending the Barcelona B goal.

His history as a Barcelona player is as follows: 97-98 Infantil, 98-00 Cadete, 00/02 Juvenil, 02-03 Juvenil and Barça C, 03-04 Barça C and Barça B, 04-05 Barça B and first team.

A goalkeeper that like to make his presence felt, solid in the air and despite being so young, he is full of character. His reliability inspires trust in his team mates.
