Marc Carmona was born in Barcelona on 30th December 1964 and has had an extensive career in five-a-side football. He has been the coach of the five-a-side football team since the 2004/05 season.
Marc Carmona was the coach of Martorell for five years starting from the 1994/95 season before
moving on to Maxon Montcada (1999/2000) and Marfil Santa Coloma. He coached Santa Coloma for four
seasons in the Division of Honour. He combined his club commitments with the job of manager of the
Catalan national side from 1991 until he signed for FC Barcelona in 2004.
He took both Martorell and Barca up into the Division of Honour in the 96/97 and 05/06
seasons respectively, reached the final phase of the Cup three times (97/98, 00/01 and 03/04) with
Martorell and Marfil Santa Coloma and also classified his team for the league playoffs on three
occasions. As Catalan national manager, he won the Spanish Championship twice in 1995/96 and 96/97.
As a player, Marc Carmona spent nine seasons in the Division of Honour with Cacaolat
Castelldefels and FC Barcelona. He made his debut at the age of 20 in 1984 with Castelldefels and
retired at the age of 30 to concentrate on his coaching career. He won the European Cup Winners Cup
with FC Barcelona.
