At only ten years of age, Hernández began making his way in the world of handball at La Salle in Valladolid.
He went on to join the Arcos Valladolid club, where he played for four years (92-96). He then
moved to Ademar León where he also enjoyed four seasons (96-00) before finally moving to FC
Barcelona, where he settled with great ease and has become an essential member of the squad.
At La Salle Valladolid he won the Spanish championship at youth level in Bilbao (88-89).
During his junior days he selected as the best player in Spain in two consecutive years (1992 and

CHARACTERISTICS
Fernando Hernández is a quick, right-sided player with a fierce throw in his repetoire. He has seen more and more action since joining the team. The utlity player has proved that he is equally adept at playing the defence as well as the front. Over the past few seasons he has gianed in staure and is now a very useful member of the squad.
