A top class and widely experienced Montenegrin international.
He began his career with Jugovic Kac (1988-1990) and Red Star (1990-93), both in the former
Yugoslavia and won recognition as one of the best players in the country. He spent one season in
the French league with Paris Saint Germain (1993-94) before making the jump to the Allianz ASOBAL
League.
He signed for Elgorriaga Bidasoa, where he spent three magnificent years (1994-97). The
highlight was the 1994-95 season, when he won the Champions League, the Allianz ASOBAL League, the
Kings Cup and was elected as best player in the Allianz ASOBAL League. While with the Basque
outfit, he also won the Spanish Super Cup (1995-96) and a European Cup Winners Cup (1996-97).
In 1997, he signed for one of Europe's other big names, THW Kiel, with whom he won 3 German
Leagues, 3 German Cups and a German Super Cup, and 1 EHF Cup. In the summer of 2001, he moved to
another German giant, SC Magdeburg, where he spent three seasons (2001-04) and won a Champions
League medal and a European Super Cup. He spent the 2004-05 season with yet another German club,
Wallau Massenheim, and after a brief spell in Qatar, moved to Pick Szeged, winning the 2005-06
Hungarian Cup.
Throughout his career, he has been a fixture in the Yugoslav national team, winning the
bronze medal in the 1996 European Championships and the 1999 World Cup.
CHARACTERISTICS
'Peru', as he is popularly known in the world of handball, possesses an extremely powerful shot and will bring versatility to the Barca squad, guaranteeing excellent defensive and offensive performances. He can play in the centre of defence or in attack, where he has a great shot from the left wing.
