FC Barcelona failed to win their third consecutive Super Cup in the final against Reus Deportiu.
The first leg played in the Palau Blaugrana was the key to the outcome of the competition. Reus
were in form that day and won 2-3, leaving Barça with the task of winning the return leg by more
than one goal.
Almost enough
Quim Paüls men almost pulled it off. They took the lead twice and at the beginning of the
second half led by 1-2. However, Reus reacted well and took the lead with six minutes left.
“Negro” Paéz equalised the game on the night but at the end Barça trailed on the
aggregate score.
