After a period in Italy, goalkeeper Octavi Tarrés returns to FC Barcelona, where he perfected his roller hockey in the club's youth teams from 1992 to 1997.
Tarrés first played the game at the age of nine years in Cerdanyola. After playing for several
clubs, including Ciutat de Badia and Horta, 'Tavi' moved to FC Barcelona in 1992.
Realising that he would get more games if he went to a different club, and could therefore
improve as a player, Barça loaned him out to Horta in 1997-98. The keeper was subsequently loaned
to the following teams: Cerdanyola (1998-1999), Lleida (1999-2000), Maçanet (2000-2001), Macarena
(2001-2002), Alcobendas (2002-04) and finally Italian club Prato.
Octavi Tarrés came to Barcelona as the final signing for the 2005-06 season, and is thrilled
to be back at the club where his heart belongs under the new management of Quim Paüls. He wants the
coach to have a difficult time deciding between himself and Aitor Egurrola, the first choice keeper
for several years.
CHARACTERISTICS
Octavi Tarrés always knows exactly where to position himself between the sticks, and is highly intelligent and a true professional. He makes huge demands of himself, and therefore always performs to the maximum of his ability. According to Paüls, Tarrés offers all of the technical characteristics he needs to complete his squad.
