Barça Sorli Discau were knocked out of the King’s Cup at the quarter final stage by Coinasa Liceo, losing 2-3 in a competition held in Igualada and which was finally to be won by Noia.
Quim Paüls’ men were the reigning champions but were always behind in the match. Reinaldo García put Liceo ahead and even though Panadero equalised, another goal by former Porto player Reinaldo García and a third by Lamas, scored in just two minutes, meant Liceo had one foot in the next round. Teixidó pulled one back with just six minutes left, but Barça couldn’t score another goal to take the match to extra time.
