Quim Paüls Bosch comes in as the new manager of FC Barcelona’s roller hockey team; taking over form Carlos Figueroa.
Born on the 11th March 1961 in Terrassa, his professional life has always been closely linked to
this area, first as a player and later in the technical body.
Since he arrived in 1978 aged 18, Paüls has had many experiences and posts, all linked to the
sport he feels passionate about. Up until 1992, he was a player – a time in which he won 24
titles. He was captain of his team and was considered one of the best players in the world in the
80s. He was also a regular in the national team; competing in 87 games.
Now retired and following a three year spell as coach of Alcobendas, he took up the role of
assistant to Carlos Figuerola. Since 2003 he had been general selection coordinator and since the
2005/06 season, he has made sure the team continues its winning ways.
In his first season he won five titles: OK Liga, Spanish super cup, European Supercup,
Intercontinental cup and first CERS cup.
All his playing days between 1979 and 1992 were with FC Barcelona.
As a coach he was with the Blaugrana from 1992 to 1995, helping the youth and junior teams. A
year later (1995/96) he was second in command of the first team. Between 1996 and 1999, Quim Paüls
coached Alcobendas and after this he came back to Barça as assistant.
He has also been involved in the selection of national teams of USA, Chile and Egypt.
