Joaquim Paüls is leaving the manager’s job at Barça Sorli Discau after a highly successful four years in charge. He believes that the time has come to move on to different things.
Quim Paüls is leaving the post of Barça Sorli Discau manager to become technical secretary for the
section. He took over four years ago and put in place the principles he believed to be most
appropriate. His time in charge of the team was “temporary” as he himself put it, and
now it’s time for a change. Paüls will become Barça’s roller hockey technical director
in the 2009/10 season, a post he held a few years ago when Carlos Figueroa was coach.
Silverware in spades
Paüls has been an excellent coach with sporting successes coming off the production line as
Barça Sorli Discau picked up an average of four titles per campaign.
Once a player in the golden era of Barça hockey, as manager he has won four OK Leagues, two
European Leagues, three Intercontinental Cups, two Spanish Super Cups, three Continental Cups, a
King’s Cup and the CERS Cup.
