Ferran Pujalte will take over from Quim Paüls in charge of Barca’s roller hockey team. The ex-Vic coach has set himself the job of maintaining the team’s successful record.
Ferran Pujalte (Barcelona, 25 August 1963) knows FC Barcelona well having played for the team for
three years from 1993 to 1996. In addition, he has an excellent understanding with the outgoing
coach and his success with Vic makes him a good choice for a top team like Barca.
Pujalte started to make his name as a player Unió Esportiva d’Horta before moving on to
Cerdanyola and Noia then to Liceo where from 1986 to 1993 he was part of the Galician team’s
most prolific period winning 21 titles in all. In 1993 he was signed by Barca where he is still
remembered as one of the most skillful players at the club, where he went on to win three more
titles. He finished his playing career at Vilafranca in 1997 and after a year out of the game he
took over as coach there where he stayed till 2001 when he joined Vic.
He took the Vic club to new heights and became one of the country’s and indeed one of
Europe’s most promising coaches and now joins Barca determined to achieve even more success.
