Argentina roller hockey defender Reinaldo García had been brought in to replace Miquel Masoliver. García looks to improve as a player over his three year contract.
For García, who was born in San Juan (Argentina) on 15th January 1983, it was a dream move.
San Juan is a fertile breeding ground for roller hockey and Reinaldo soon came to the
attention of Olimpia, one of the most prestigious sides on the international stage, after making
his debut with Club Rivadavia at just 7 years old.
He went on to accumulate a large number of junior medals.
In the 2001/2002 season, he moved to Porto and his name began to resonate around European
roller hockey. He became part of a record-breaking Porto team that won six consecutive Portuguese
league titles in his six seasons with the club.
With the decline of roller hockey in Portugal, García moved on to Liceo in the much stronger
OK League for the 2007/08 season. During his two seasons with the Galician club he established a
reputation as one of the best defensive players in the OK League.
PROFILE
Reinaldo García, 'Nalo', is a physical player, strong at the back and with all the
qualities of a good defender. He moves well and likes to have the ball. Moving out from defence he
can neutralize the opposing attacker and his ability allows him to create danger in attack.
