Future guarantees

Barça Sorli Discau is doing a great job at youth level, and the different teams have collected the usual wealth of titles.

All the way down the ranks, the teams have learned to play the intuitive Barça way and the players have learned to assimilate their roles to perfection.

Senior B
Back in the Nacional Catalana, the Barça Sorli Discau second team showed that this is where they belong. Under Àlex Segura they worked hard in a competition where experience matters for so much. The junior players, despite being up against adults, managed to finish second, topped only by Manlleu.

Also, in the II Copa Generalitat for the top four teams at the halfway stage, Barça B beat Tordera in the semi final (3-2) and lifted the trophy by defeating GEiEG (1-5). Goalkeeper Octavi Tarrés was named MVP of the competition.

Junior
The juniors topped their year with the double. Also managed by Àlex Segura, Barça were second to only Tordera at the halfway stage, and 10 wins, a draw and one loss in the second half were enough to clinch the title. The juniors also won the Catalonian Championship by winning against Vic in a final that went to a tie-breaker. And then after finishing runners-up last year, they won the Spanish Championship, by beating Oviedo 3-2 in the final.

Juvenil
The juvenil team was also vastly superior to the opposition it faced. After a great regular season, they were top seeds for the Catalonian Championship. Under Francesc Linares they clinched the title by routing Voltregà 4-0. They couldn’t have been in a better mood going into the Spanish Championship and trounced Galician side Cerceda 9-3 in the grand final.

Infantil
After a solid season, injuries paid their toll right when it mattered most. Barça Sorli Discau finished the first group stage with a perfect 10-0 record and in the second stage they only dropped points to Girona but still topped the table reasonably comfortably.

Going into the Catalonian Championship, Òscar González’s side started suffering from injuries and exhaustion, and their bid came to nothing following defeat to Shum, 5-6, in the quarter finals. They finished seventh, which was not enough to gain a berth in the Spanish Championship.
