Navarro is back in Barça colours

Roger Bogunyà

After a season in the NBA, Juan Carlos Navarro is back in Barça colours. At his official presentation he said he wanted to be a key player in the club’s new basketball set-up.

The ex-Grizzlies player said he wanted to make as big a contribution as he can to the side: “I want to be a key player and help the team achieve everything it can and create a new project. I want everything to turn out well.”

Question of feelings

I was missing the club I’d always been with,” said Navarro, who will once again wear the no. 11 vest. The deciding moment was when he saw the team in the play-offs a month ago: “The last play-off game convinced me; I would have liked to have been out there playing”.

The NBA experience

Creus: “He has marked an era”

presentacio_navarro.jpgBarça’s director of football, Joan Creus, said that Juan Carlos Navarro “has marked an era since he joined the club” and called him a “decisive, creative, unpredictable player who’s tough to defend against, who clicks with the crowd and has many of the values the club is looking for”.

Retirement at the Palau Blaugrana?
When asked if the five years of his FC Barcelona contract would be the last in his career, Juan Carlos Navarro said that it was early to make a prediction like that as there were at least five years still to go, but he admitted that “my goal is to retire at Barça.”
