Signing of Alex Acker rejected

AXA FC Barcelona has decided not to sign North American star Alex Acker after he failed to produce the expected results in his medical test, which is considered an essential requisite before any player is offered a contract.
Acker visited the Club Medical Services for the routine medical tests performed before any player
signs for one of the Barça sports teams. But following the checks, it was announced that the player
is not considered to be in the right condition to represent the club on court.
Failed medical check
Alex Acker was announced as a potential new signing on August 9, although no formal deal
could be struck until the Californian had taken the medical tests in accordance with strict club
policy. But given that the tests produced negative results, AXA FC Barcelona have decided to turn
the player down.
The AXA FC Barcelona staff are now looking into other ways of completing the roster ahead of
the 2007/2008 season.
