Lakovic to stay another two years
Sònia de Alba
Slovenian guard Jaka Lakovic has extended his contract with FC Barcelona for a further two years.
Regal Barça and Jaka Lakovic have agreed terms to keep Lakovic at the Club for two more seasons on
top of the three he has already completed.
The player’s contribution over the past three seasons and his desire to remain in
Barcelona have been instrumental in the Club’s decision.
Vision and points
Jaka Lakovic has shone for his reading of the game but also
for his influence in attack. His points per game average is just short of ten both in the ACB and
the Euroleague. He has averaged 40%+ of two and three pointers and provided nearly three assists
per game.
More time than with Panathinaikos
Lakovic signed for Regal Barça after four sensational seasons with Panathinaikos, winning the
league four times, the Cup three times but missing out on the Euro league. He moved to the Greek
club from Slovenian outfit Novo Mesto, where he played for just one season (2001/02) but he learnt
his trade with Slovan Ljubljana. He now looks set to complete five seasons in the colours of Regal
Barça.
