Joan Creus has been delighted with the attitude of Jaka Lakovic and has stated that he is non-transferable before he looked ahead to the new campaign at the club.
The Blaugrana basketball team's technical secretary spoke to Barça TV and www.fcbarcelona.cat about
various matters including the trip to the United States and the possible new signings.
First few months
"I think that we should view things positively because in the end we
have assembled a competitive team. The players are now training and in pre-sesaon we will begin to
see what the squad is truly capable of."
"I am with the way the squad is and think that it is a united group with all positions well
covered."
More new signings
"After seeing Kasun leave, Barça will be attentive to any possible signings and we will look
into how viable things are should a player become available that we believe will truly add
something."
Lakovic’s importance
"It has been said that Lakovic was transferable, but that is not true. Lakovic is an
important part of the team and we expect a lot from him. I have been impressed with his attitude
and his training and that is commendable. We are very happy with him and he is one more player in
the squad now."
Xavi Pascual
"The intention at the moment is to make the squad competitive and that
will happen day-by-day and when we start playing games. On the other hand, Xavi Paschal has been
working with the team since the start of pre-season and is planning the season perfectly by working
on tactics and telling them what he wants."
Team tactics
"You can sign a lot of players, but if in the end they do not perform
then the team loses. Xavi Paschal is mentally preparing all the players, but in the end it is down
to the players and how they play. During the pre-season games he has been able to see that they are
playing as a team."
The Catalan League
"It is an important tournament that everyone wants to win, but this season will be even more
important because we are organising it. It is vital to us. We have to play well and that will set
us up for the coming season. We have a lot of work to do."

The tour of the United States
"We are very proud about the tour to the States. Barça is well known there and this will help even
more. A lot of people have heard of us, but this will be another chance to win even more supporters
in different countries. It is also important for the players to measure themselves against top
level players."
