Regal FC Barcelona eased to their 16th victory of the season as they moved into a commanding lead in the first half and then put on a show for their fans in the third and fourth quarters.
Incredibly, the visitors took a 6-9 lead after just eight minutes with
Andriuskevicius moving well while Stojic and Austin stood out. Many felt that the game would be
tight after this bright start, but that was as good as it became for Alicante as Barça netted the
next 23 points to move into a lead that they would not let slip.
One rare scare for the home team came when Juan Carlos Navarro went
over on his ankle and had to be treated for a twist in the third quarter. The injury was not
serious though and he was soon back on his feet and helping Barça forward.
