After a year on loan at Fuenlabrada, Xavi Rabaseda will be back at Regal Barça next season. The guard was one of the revelations of last year’s ACB.
Contract till 2014
The new contract signed by Xavi Rabaseda will keep him at the Club until 30 June 2014.
Following Chuck Eidson’s arrival earlier this month, Regal Barça’s second signing for
the 2011-12 season is Xavi Rabaseda. The Catalan guard, born in Ripoll 22 years ago, joined the
Club in 2002 as a child and he made a meteoric rise through the ranks to make his debut with the
first team in April 2009, whilst he was still playing for Cornella. The following season he played
in four games for the first team and was then sent out on loan to Fuenlabrada last year.
Great season at Fuenlabrada
Rabaseda was a sensation at Fuenlabrada, playing in 33 ACB games and
averaging 8.6 points and 2.4 rebounds over 22 minutes a game. His best score was 22 points, with a
23 point valuation – against Unicaja in the third game of the season. He was nominated as one
of the five best newcomers to the league last season.
Skilful and strong
Xavi Rabaseda has represented Spain at all levels except the first team and his strength and
athleticism have helped to make him a good shooter and a player able to finish off his attacks with
great smashes. Barça’s latest signing has been taking part in various workouts with NBA teams
over recent days.
