US Forward Barça Pete Mickeal is staying with Regal Barça for another year after a success-packed season for both player and Club.
Pete Mickeal moved to Regal Barça a year ago from TAU Vitoria, now Caja Laboral. He had proved his
versatility in defence and attack with the Basque outfit and in his first season with Barça
demonstrated the Club had made the right choice.
A wise choice
He quickly carved out a place for himself in the starting five and was one of the
key elements of Xavi Pascual’s team. Together with the rest of his team-mates he picked up
four winner’s meals – the Catalan League, the ACB Super Cup, the Kings Cup and the
Euroleague.
On a personal level he was named Euroleague MVP in November and obtained the highest
individual valuation in the opening game against Fenerbahce. He performed consistently well
throughout the European campaign.
Excellent European stats
The 32-year old achieved an average valuation of 14.1 in his first season with Regal Barça,
the same as Juan Carlos Navarro.
In Europe he averaged 26 minutes and 12 points per game and featured in the starting five in
19 out of 21 games.
Fundamental in the ACB
Meanwhile, he was also vital to the team in the domestic competition. In the ACB
regular phase he averaged 23 minutes and 10 points per game with an average valuation of 11.3.
In the playoffs his contribution improved to 29 minutes, 12 points and a valuation of 13.87.
