Regal Barça finished off Fuenlabrada at the Palau on Sunday with an impressive third quarter when they outscored the visitors by 11 points. Five Barça players scored 10 or more points in a game where the collective proved vital.
Barça began slowly and the visitors were able to dictate the pace of
the game moving to a 6-13 lead after 8 minutes with Batista dominating, but Barça fought back to go
in 19-13 up at the end of the quarter thanks to two three pointers from Mickeal, one from Lorbek
and another from Navarro, as well as a cheeky score from Ricky.
The third quarter put an end to any hopes Fuenlabrada might have of a
comeback as Xavi Pascual sent out Navarro, Ricky, Mickeal, Vázquez and Lorbek to up the pace and
put the game out of the visitors’ reach and the hosts stretched away to a 63-39 lead.
Naturally enough perhaps, Barça took their foot off the gas in the final ten minutes and
Fuenlabrada hit them with 11 successive points before Ricky came back on and scored a three pointer
which settled any nerves as the team ran down the clock to end up with a comfortable fourteen point
cushion and maintain their position at the top of the ACB.
