Laporta received by Senegal Interior Minister

On Wednesday, representatives of FC Barcelona, led by Joan Laporta, were received by the Senegalese Interior Minister, Mr Ousmane Ngom. They discussed the Foundation’s work in the northern Senegalese town of Richard Toll.
Club president Joan Laporta and the rest of the Barça delegation arrived in Senegal on Wednesday.
The FC Barcelona Foundation is to open the first of its International Network of Solidarity Centres
(XICS), the main objective of which is to promote access to Education, Health and Sport for all
children all around the world, without distinction.
Meeting with Senegalese authorities
On arriving in Dakar, Joan Laporta spoke to journalists to explain the project in Richard
Toll. He also took the opportunity to highlight the role of African players in the Barça squad as
well as the part played by home-grown talent.
After speaking to reporters, the Barça delegation had a meeting with the Senegalese Interior
Minister, Ousmane Ngom, and with other local and national government representatives. Also present
at the meeting was the Senegalese national football team manager, Amara Traoré.
The main event of the visit will take place in the town of Richard Toll on Thursday evening
with the inauguration of the very first XICS centre. Further centres are due to be opened in
Morocco, Brazil and Cameroon.
