Next Friday, 16 January, chairman Joan Laporta is to open the first XICS centre in Morocco. It is in Tangier and will help around 300 at-risk children in the Beni Makada district.

The XICS Morocco seeks both to prevent the educational exclusion of at-risk children aged 8 to 16 who miss a lot of school time and also to promote sport as a source of positive values.

Second time in Morocco
This isn’t the first Foundation programme to be implemented in Morocco. In May 2007 Sports Solidarity Workshops were held in Tangier to provide educators with the skills they need to use sport as a tool for teaching. 30 educators and 150 kids benefited from this successful programme.
