Laporta: "The fans are enjoying themselves"

After a display of great football against Sevilla, Club president Joan Laporta admitted “the fans are enjoying themselves a great deal”. However, he insisted that trophies must be won before the joy can be complete.
Joan Laporta stressed that it was impossible not to be encouraged by the way Barça are playing and
start thinking about the possibility of a league, Cup and Champions League treble: “This
football makes it difficult to contain our hopes, to cope with the joy that a Barça team of this
quality gives. But nothing’s been achieved yet”. He also insisted that the support of
the fans was vital at this final stage of the season.
Trophies needed
He pointed out that the wins accumulated so far are not
enough to guarantee trophies: “We have to be cautious because we haven’t won anything
yet and we all know what happens if you don’t win”.
Praise from Josep Lluís Núñez
Just before Joan Laporta made these comments at the Barcelona Royal Tennis Club, former
president Josep Lluís Núñez also spoke about the team. He believes Barça is in with a chance of
winning all three competitions “if nothing strange happens”.
A valuable squad
Mr Nuñez also recognised that the current squad is one of the best in the Club’s
history: “It’s the best team. From the point of view of the value of the squad it has a
very high economic level”. He even suggested that the current team could be better than the
Dream Team. However, according to Joan Laporta: “The results will tell us that”.
