Three years of cooperation with UNICEF

On Wednesday 10th June, Joan Laporta will lead a delegation from the FC Barcelona Foundation to New York where they will inaugurate a photographic exhibition and look back over nearly three years of the alliance with UNICEF.
FC Barcelona and UNICEF will be reviewing their joint work in the fight against AIDS over the past
three years at a press conference before the launch of an exhibition by photographer Pep Bonet in
New York entitled “HIV/AIDS IMPACT: Life and Hopes of Swazi Orphans”.
Joint press conference
The press conference will be held on Wednesday 10th June at 2
pm in the headquarters of UNICEF in New York. FC Barcelona will be represented by Marta Segú,
Director General of the Foundation, and Club president Joan Laporta. Director General Ann Veneman
will represent UNICEF. They will discuss the alliance between the two organizations as an example
of a global partnership with worldwide repercussions and summarize the results of the last three
years’ work with young people affected by AIDS.
AIDS in Swaziland
At 6.30 pm FC Barcelona will launch the exhibition in UNICEF headquarters
“HIV/AIDS IMPACT: Life and Hopes of Swazi Orphans” with photographs by Majorcan
photographer Pep Bonet. This exhibition was first shown in August 2007 at the Camp Nou and is
supported by the Foundation. It shows the devastating impact of AIDS on children in Swaziland.
