The Barça expedition made up of Albert Perrín, Txiki Begiristain, Raúl Sanllehí and Pep Costa is now in Argentina, where they have watched four games involving FC Barcelona Juniors Luján against Los Tigres.

The reason for this trip to South America was to find how things are progressing at FC Barcelona’s training centre in Luján, Argentina.

IMG_6022.jpgThe director in charge of relations with international sports federations and organisations, Albert Perrín , the Technical secretary Txiki Begiristain, director of football, Raúl Sanllehí, and scouting director Pep Costa, are in the Argentinian city where this morning, CET, they have watched a series of games played by the youngsters of FCB Juniors Luján.

Four games

On Thursday, they will be watching more games, although in these FCB Luján will be playing youth teams from Club Atlético Boca Juniors, and on Saturday there will be yet more games involving members of this school and teams from elsewhere in Argentina.

Courtesy visit to the AFA

Also, as is common whenever the club sends a delegation to Argentina, the group observing progress at FCB Lujan has also visited the president of the AFA Julio Grondona.

The private visit to the AFA headquarters was used to reaffirm the excellent relations between the two organisations. The Barça representatives reiterated to President Grondona their congratulations to the Argentina team on their victory at the recent Olympic Games in Beijing and presented them with a commemorative plaque.

Next Saturday the Barcelona entourage will be attending the game between Argentina and Uruguay in Buenos Aires.

Who are FCB Juniors Luján?
In July 2007, FC Barcelona set up a new integral training system in Argentina for young high performance athletes. It works on similar principles to La Masia, but is conditioned to a very different environment.
