FC Barcelona would like to wish all its members and fans throughout the world a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year that’s full of Barça triumphs.
With 2009 just around the corner, and as is now traditional at this time of year, Barcelona would
like to wish all its members and fans a very Merry Christmas. The club’s greetings are
accompanied by a photo of the heads of all the club’s professional teams raising their
glasses in a seasonal toast.
A very special toast
Coaches Josep Guardiola, Xavier Pascual, Manolo Cadenas, Quim Paüls and
Marc Carmona are with club chairman Joan Laporta to raise their glasses to a Merry Christmas and a
Happy New Year. Doing the same are the captains of each side: Carles Puyol, David Barrufet, Roger
Grimau, Alberto Borregán and Javi Rodríguez.
Players on holiday
Naturally enough the bulk of the players are on holiday and many have chosen to go back to
their countries to spend the festive season with family and friends. Like last year, the fixture
list means that the Regal FC Barcelona squad will have the fewest days off – the 23rd, the
24th and the 25th – as on the 28th they have a game against iurbentia in Bilbao.
Barça Toons as ever on special occasions
Special occasions wouldn’t be the same without the adventures of the Barça Toons. This
time round the Puyol, Messi, Iniesta, Xavi and Eto'o Toons feature in the club’s greetings
card. This fun image of our first team players sends out a message of joy in a number of different
languages.

Winning card represents the club
Barcelona’s greetings card for this year is illustrated with a drawing by Albert Fina
Castella, the winner of the 4th Barça Christmas Card Competition. The card represents the club
around the world and the winning design was chosen out of more than one thousand entries by young
Barça members.
