Joan Laporta has confirmed that current vice-president Jaume Ferrer will stand in the club’s presidential elections in the summer and be the face of continuity.
The current Camp Nou supremo explained that Ferrer would take the current board’s ideas
forward. “He is the man who will continue with the model that has made this club recognized
as the best in the world,” Laporta told Barça TV after the win against Osasuna on Wednesday.
Same again
“I am delighted that Jaume Ferrer has taken the decision to become the leader for
this,” the president continued. “He is a man who will defend this plan and is the best
man for the job.”
Successful path
Looking ahead to the club building on the triumphs that they have enjoyed in the past few
seasons, Laporta added: “He will be the candidate who can guarantee that we continue on the
same successful path.”
Help and support
“Ferrer is the type of candidate who I will always give my support to,” Laporta
concluded.

A hard-fought win
Joan Laporta recognised that Barça had to work hard to secure victory against Osasuna, but was
delighted with the three points. “We played very well,” he said. “It has been a
hard-fought victory in what was a difficult match. We did not give up on our system of play and we
have obtained the three points.”
After seeing the 1984/85 team on the pitch before the game, Joan Laporta admitted he was
moved. “It was emotional,” he explained. “It was great to see how the fans
reacted to them.”
