Champions League trophy off to Madrid

This Friday the Champions League trophy ceremonially arrived in Madrid. The president of FC Barcelona led the travelling party in representation of the defending champions.
UEFA is taking the Champions League trophy to Madrid, where it will be contested on May 22. The
Palacio de la Cibeles was the venue, and several dignitaries were in attendance.
Barça representatives
President Joan Laporta was joined by the President of Honour Johan Cruyff, vice president
Albert Perrín, and technical secretary Txiki Begiristain.
Personages and schedules
UEFA and the host city had also invited other figures such as the
president of the Spanish Football Association, Ángel María Villar, the president of UEFA, Michel
Platini, and the mayor of Madrid, Alberto Ruiz Gallardón.
The event was set to start at 13.00 and was to be followed by a cocktail reception for all
the guests.
