Vanessa Forns
The FC Barcelona Board of Directors have released the presidential election timetable on Friday with voting day being set as June 13. Club secretary Josep Cubells revealed the plan of action after a meeting with the board.
The process will begin on May 10 when the publication of the call for an election will be made and
the build-up and campaigning can start.
Acts of constitution
After the starting gun has been fired on May 10, when publication of the call of elections
and draw for the election of the members of the Electoral Board and Table have been made the next
phase starts on May 14. That is when the draw for the designation of the members of the Electoral
Board and Table happens and is quickly followed by the Act of constitution of the Electoral Board
and Table on May 16.Claims against the Roll
Between May 17 and 21 the display of the Electoral Roll and claims against the Electoral Roll
can be made. Those claims will be resolved three days later by the Board of Directors and then the
definitive Roll will be passed.
Presentation of candidates
The candidates will be presented on May 25 and there can be no fewer then 14 or no more than
21. That process lasts seven days and each candidate must have 2,095 signatures. On June 3 the
Electoral Board will proclaim the candidates and give them the right to participate in the
elections.
Electoral campaign
The electoral campaign will run between June 4 and 11 and that will be when all participants
can promote their plans and ideas and canvas club members in a bid to win their votes. On Saturday,
June 12 there will be a day of reflection when no campaigning can take place and the following day,
June 13, club members will vote for a new president.
