Board resignations

In line with the rules laid out in the club statutes, the Board members who are standing for election in June all resigned their current posts in a Board meeting held at the club this Monday.
The Board met at the Nou Camp this evening for their last meeting before next month’s
Presidential election and at the end of their session, the members who figure in a Presidential
list for those elections presented their resignations from the current Board. Alfons Godall, who
had already resigned, left the meeting once the other members accepted his resignation.
Ten resignations
Board Secretary Josep Cubells and Director General Joan Oliver announced the resignations at
a press conference at the Nou Camp after the meeting. The members resigning were Jaume Ferrer, Joan
Boix, Albert Perrín, Jordi Torrent, Alfonso Castro, Patrick Auset, Magda Oranich, Josep-Ignasi
Macià and Xavier Bagués, whilst Alfons Godall presented his resignation last Friday.
In line with club statutes
Article 38 of the club statutes states that candidates for election must have resigned their
posts before the start of phase VI of the electoral process – the presentation of candidate
list,
which meant that all current Board members who were standing in the elections were
obliged to resign before this Tuesday, May 25th.
Remaining members to stay till end of June
President Laporta will be accompanied by the remaining five Board members -Rafael Yuste,
Josep Cubells, Xavier Sala i Martín, Jacint Borràs, Josep Anton Colomer and Maria Elena Fort -
until June 30th, as article 32.4 states that an emergency commission is only needed if less than a
third of the original board is still in place and the reduced board can thus stay in place until a
new President is elected.
