Agustí Benedito, Jaume Ferrer, Marc Ingla and Sandro Rosell have officially been announced as the FC Barcelona presidential candidates following presentation of signatures on Monday.
All four easily managed to obtain the 2,095 signatures they needed. Once the validation procedure
was complete, secretary Josep Cubells and director general Joan Oliver announced the results of the
final count:
- Agustí Benedito: 2,520 valid signatures / 2,896 presented / 376 void
- Jaume Ferrer: 3,935 valid signatures / 4,442 presented / 507 void
- Marc Ingla: 4,288 valid signatures / 4,744 presented / 456 void
- Sandro Rosell: 12,635 valid signatures / 13,620 presented / 985 void
At the same time, Cubells also thanked the club’s Ombudsman, staff and the candidates
for their “meticulous work and effort.” “We have managed to ensure that the
validation process went ahead as normally and transparently as possible”, he said.
Oliver also provided additional information on the candidatures:
“The LFP has provided the club with a report on the guarantee that the new president will
have to constitute. If the winning candidate meets the requirements to be recognised as a
‘Continuing Board’ he shall have to guarantee 27 million, and if not, he shall have to
guarantee 58 million”. To be recognised as such, the presidential candidate must have formed
part of the outgoing Board for the entire course of its office.
