Busy institutional week

With Barca’s new President Sandro Rosell due to take office on Thursday, July 1st, there is a busy week of institutional activity at the club ahead, as outgoing President Joan Laporta completes his term of office.
There’s not much sporting activity at the club this week, with most of the teams enjoying
well earned breaks and the focus of attention will turn onto institutional activities as the club
welcomes its new President and bids farewell to the man who fills the post till Wednesday.
Last current board meeting
At 14.00 on Monday, the final board meeting of the Joan Lapotra era will take place.
The President will be accompanied by Sporting Vice President Rafael Yuste, Secretary Josep Cubells,
Treasurer Xavier Sala i Martín, Barça Atlètic President, Jacint Borràs and the board members Josep
Anton Colomer and Maria Elena Fort. Txiki Begiristain, and Director General Joan Oliver will also
be present and at 19.00, Sr Oliver will give a press conference to explain the final decisions of
the board.
Laporta Presidency comes to an end
After seven years in the post, Joan Laporta will step down as President on Wednesday, 30th
June. The club’s 38th President has already bid farewell to the members in a
letter
addressed to them all earlier this month.
Financial statement 2009/10
At 18.00 on Wednesday, the Treasurer Xavier Sala i Martín will present the final financial
results for the 2009/10 season and as Joan Oliver has already revealed, the figures are likely to
be very positive, with the club’s income rising to record levels.
Rosell to take office on Thursday
The official taking of office of new President
Sandro Rosell
will take place on Thursday at 12.00 following a short handover meeting between the outgoing
and incoming boards. Sandro Rosell is the
President who has received the most ever votes in an election at the club and the 35,021
votes
he got mean that he will be the club’s 39th President, in office until 2016.
