The Timbuktu Supporters’ Club had a great time watching the Champions League Final in Rome. The Mali SC members have sent a video of their celebrations to Barça TV
The Supporters’ Club has sent us the pictures of their celebrations of Barça’s third
Champions League all the way from Mali.
Proud of Barça
In the letter accompanying the video the president of the
Supporters’ Club Azima Ag Mohammed Ali told us: “We are very happy to be able to send
you this video to show you how much we like the best team in the world”.
The video shows the fans crowded around a TV, most of them wearing Barça shirts emblazoned
with the UNICEF logo. There are even some flags with “Champions” written in Catalan.
The video shows the tremendous enthusiasm for Barça in Mali, the birthplace of Keita,
Since 2006
The Supporters’ Club does not have its own clubhouse so meet in a local hotel, where
they watched the Rome final. The club was founded in 2006 and inaugurated its own plaque at the
Camp Nou two years ago. Most of the membership belongs to the tuareg ethnic group.

Annual visit
The president of the Supporters’ Club, Azima Ag, is in permanent touch with Barça’s SC
department to explain their activities. In addition, Azima visits Barcelona and the installations
of the Club every April or May. It’s the hottest time of the year in Mali so he takes the
opportunity to visit the club that is so dear to his heart.
