Barça says farewell to Jarque

A Barcelona delegation headed by club chairman Joan Laporta has gone to the new Cornellà-el Prat Stadium to say farewell to Dani Jarque and support his family and Espanyol’s directors and players.
Around 2 pm the gates at the new Cornellà-el Prat Stadium were opened to admit the thousands of
fans who had come to say farewell to club captain Dani Jarque who died suddenly on Saturday.
Barça representation
The FC Barcelona party arrived at the Espanyol ground around 2.30 pm. Barça’s
chairman Joan Laporta, who led the delegation, was accompanied by vice-chairmen Rafael Yuste and
Alfons Godall, club CEO Joan Oliver, technical secretary Txiki Begiristain, first team coach Josep
Guardiola and players Víctor Valdés, Albert Jorquera and Andrés Iniesta.
With the family
The Barça party gave their support to Dani Jarque’s family and
Espanyol’s players and directors. As he was leaving, social vice-chairman Alfons Godall
highlighted "the shared feeling between the Barça party and the Espanyol people which really moved
me. Here we’ve been brothers in the football family and we’ll always miss Dani Jarque".
