Extraordinary meeting of the Board of Directors to discuss actions following events at the Bernabéu
The FC Barcelona Legal Services will analyse the words of José Mourinho in his press conference to decide whether a formal complaint should be made to UEFA.
President Sandro Rosell has called an extraordinary meeting of the Board of Directors this Thursday
at 17.00 to decide what to do about the events at the Champions League semi final match between
Real Madrid and FC Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabéu. An announcement will then be made to the
press at 19.00 in the Ricard Maxenchs pressroom at the Camp Nou.
Following Barcelona’s 2-0 win, Real Madrid manager José Mourinho strongly criticised
referee Stark and insinuated that UEFA favour FC Barcelona. The FC Barcelona Legal Services are
proposing that they should lodge a formal complaint to the UEFA Disciplinary Commission.
The Real Madrid manager said: "Josep Guardiola is a fantastic football coach, but he has
already won a Champions League that I would be ashamed to win after the scandal at Stamford Bridge.
And this year, if he wins, it will be after the scandal at the Bernabéu".
His accusations against FC Barcelona went further: "I don’t know whether it’s
because of the Unicef sponsorship, whether it’s Villar’s friendship with UEFA, where
he’s vice president, I don’t know whether it’s because they’re so nice but
they have achieved this power. Nobody else has a chance".
