New president Sandro Rosell and social area vice-president Jordi Cardoner have made their first visit to an official Barca supporters’ club.
Following on from his official visits to
Barcelona City Hall and the Catalan government in the Palau de la Generalitat
, this Saturday Sandro Rosell took the chance to get closer to the fans with a visit to the
Banyoles SC to celebrate their 25th anniversary. He was accompanied by the vice-president
responsible for social affairs, Jordi Cardoner.
A special feeling
In fact, Rosell visited this SC in 2005 when he was sports
vice-president: “We came here because of the warmth and support this supporters’ club
has always shown us. I have a special feeling for them”.
Grateful to Banyoles
Among those present were former player and coach Pere Gratacós, who
together with many people from the town of Banyoles supported Rosell in the recent presidential
campaign.
Book of Honour
The ceremony was presided over by the SC president, Josep Olivé, and the local mayor, Miquel
Noguer, who congratulated Rosell on winning the election and wished him luck. President Rosell
signed the book of honour in the Town Hall.
From Banyoles to Porqueres
After this, they went on to the nearby town of Porqueres and watched a
football match between a team from the supporters’ club and veterans of the local team Unió
Esportiva Porqueres. The mayors of Porqueres, Salvador Ros, and Banyoles, Miquel Noguer, and the
president of the SC Josep Olivé, made the traditional exchange of gifts with president Rosell.
