Ronaldinho stars in Brazil win (1-0)

Brazil, with Ronaldinho in the starting line-up beat Ghana 1-0 in a friendly international played in Stockholm (Sweden). The only goal was scored after 10 minutes by Vágner Love.

Brazil defeated Ghana on Tuesday with a goal from Vágner Love after just 10 minutes. Ronaldinho, who played the entire game, was in fine form and led the Brazilian attack throughout. The match staged in Stockholm saw a fascinating battle develop over the 90 minutes.

Yellow dominance

The only goal arrived as early as the 10th minute: Ronaldinho’s corner was flicked on by Kaká for an unmarked Vágner Love to provide the finishing touch and put the Brazilians in front. It proved to be the only score of the game. Dunga’s side were particularly strong in the first half with Ronaldinho, wearing number 7, leading the attack. The Barça player tormented the Ghanaian defence with some excellent passing into space.

Ghana in search of an equaliser

The match changed after the restart as the Africans began to control the game. Ghana, who were without Essien and Appiah, had three chances to equalise but Brazil goalkeeper Julio César denied them on each occasion. The hopes of Claude Le Roy’s team were finally ended in the 78th minute with the expulsion of striker Draman.
