Barça go it alone
Barça once again stand alone at the top of the league table and have opened up a two-point gap over second placed Sevilla, who were held to a goalless draw away to Osasuna.
Saturday’s 2-1 win against Deportivo, combined with Sevilla’s 0-0 draw in Pamplona
against Osasuna, reaffirmed the blistering pace that Barça have set in La Liga this season. With
just ten matches left Barça have a two-point lead over Sevilla in second place and enjoy a superior
goal difference.
The top four
The other two teams fighting for one of the four places in the Champions League next season -
Real Madrid and Valencia – both managed to take the three points this weekend. Real Madrid
won 1-2 away to Celta while Valencia beat Espanyol 3-2. They trail Barça by five and six points
respectively.
