Eto’o, Belletti and Motta to miss Zaragoza trip
Samuel Eto'o and Juliano Belletti will not travel to Real Zaragoza after they picked up injuries and missed training on Friday, but Deco and Rafael Márquez return to the squad.
The two absent players join Thiago Motta on the list of those not available for the tricky trip to
La Romareda this weekend. Barça's medical team revealed the reason for Eto'o's omission stating:
"The player is suffering from tendonitis in his right leg. He will undergo physiotherapy and a
muscle strengthening programme in the gymnasium. He is rule out from the Zaragoza match and his
condition over the next few days will continued to be evaluated to determine whether he will be
available for the next match."
Belletti also out
As for Belletti, the medical team said: "He has some pain around his groin that has kept him
out of the training session on Friday morning. Belletti will also be unable to play against
Zaragoza."
Also missing from the squad is Motta, who has been ruled out for at least ten days after
spraining his ankle in training earlier in the week. Santiago Ezquerro is also set to miss the game
as he his rested.
Deco and Márquez return
There was some good news, however, as Deco was given the green light to play in the game
after completing his recuperation from an operation on his finger last month. Márquez has also also
been recalled, after coach Frank Rijkaard rested the Mexican international last weekend after he
had spent several days travelling with his national team.
