Ball games
FC Barcelona’s training session on Wednesday has seen a football present at all times as the players worked on their skills and keeping possession as the build-up to the Mallorca game continued.
The physical work that was evident in recent days was put to one side as the coaches introduced
technical control to the programme. The players spent the morning on the pitch in front of La Masia
working on different routines with the ball ever present. Passing and control was first up,
followed by a period of keeping possession as the players were divided into two groups for a
small-sided encounter.
Deco back in action
Deco was back with his team-mates after being given
permission to miss training on Tuesday and the Brazilian-born playmaker began the session by
joining in with the rest of the squad before breaking away to continue on his own personal plan of
action. Ronaldinho, who is still suffering slightly from a fever, was not out on the pitch and,
instead, remained in the gymnasium, while Samuel Eto’o, Lilian Thuram and Thiago Motta
continued their recuperation from injuries.
Keeping up the pressure
With the players split into two groups in the
training session, the focus was placed on increasing the pressure as the morning drew to a close.
When the opposition had the ball, the other side had press them and try to win back possession as
quickly as possible.
