The good news coming out of Monday’s training session is that Juliano Belletti has been given the green light by Club doctors to resume full training. By contrast, Thiago Motta and Lilian Thuram were both unable to take part in the session.
The players were back in training on Monday morning ahead of the upcoming Cup showdown against
Getafe. Juliano Belletti has been passed fit after recovering from the muscle problem in his right
leg and will be available for that match. He has missed the last four games due to the in jury,
against Getafe in the Cup, and Villarreal, Levante and Real Sociedad in the league.
Motta and Thuram
Thiago Motta (leg infection and fever) and Lilian Thuram (permission from the Club) both
missed training today.
Motta is now following a course of antibiotics. Meanwhile, Deco and Márquez are still
recovering from their injuries.
The return leg against Getafe
The rest of the squad continued with their preparations for the final sprint of the 2006-07
season. Carles Puyol, Edmílson and Andrés Iniesta did some warm-up exercises and jogging before
returning to the dressing room.
The players who turned out against Real Sociedad went through the usual post-match routine
while the remaining players continued with ball-control exercises, circuit training and a practice
game.
