Barça keeper, Jorquera, has not hidden from having been eliminated from the Copa del Rey. “the team gave a bad image”, however, he hopes the defeat will serve as a wake up call for the final part of the Liga.

There were many feelings in the dressing room following the defeat against Getafe and Barça goalkeeper, Albert Jorquera, assures that “the team is not happy. It was a hard hit to take.”

Bad Image

We are a team, therefore, nobody can be singled out.” Jorquera also admitted that “the team’s attitude was far from adequate – we didn’t go out with the right mentality.”

To hold onto the result

Albert Jorquera believes that the team made the fatal error of “unconsciously going out on pitch with the only goal of maintaining the advantage. We’re an attacking team, we need the ball. We can’t go out with the idea of defending until time’s up.”

The Liga

Despite being so close to the final of the Copa del Rey, the blaugran ‘25’ believes that the Liga is completely different: “we’ve lost the cup, but the Liga remains unchanged. Therefore, this should serve to unite the team in their defence of the Liga title over the next five games”. The formula Jorquera believes to recover from this loss is “winning on Sunday.”

The fans’ reaction

Finally, the goalkeeper mentioned that President Joan Laporta spoke with them after the game and “gave us his full support and confidence.”
