FC Barcelona's number one, Víctor Valdés, has no doubt that the team can win their third consecutive league title and believes that they will retain top spot in the table very quickly.
"We can win the remaining 12 points," he said. "The other teams have difficult games and I hope we
will go back to the top as soon as possible." Talking in the press conference after a tough
training session on Wednesday, the Blaugrana goalkeeper revealed how confident he is that the club
will be successful this term. "The team is working very hard," he continued. "Rijkaard talked to us
before the session and gave us a lift and we all trained especially hard as a result."
Winning mentality
A day before the one-year anniversary of the
Champions League win in Paris, Valdés analysed the current situation: "The results have not gone
for us," he explained. "But we have not changed our mentality or stopped scoring goals. We want
more trophies. We are angry that the fans are worried, because we are the first ones who want
things to go well. We have to listen to everyone's opinion, but those that are being positive are
the most helpful."
Prudent ahead of the game
The first chance that Barça have to retain the leadership of the league comes on Sunday
against Atlético and Valdés admitted how important the game in the Vicente Calderón could be. "It
will be difficult," he said. "Atlético have always played well against us." Fernando Torres has a
good record against the Blaugrana, but the keeper is confident he can deny the Atleti striker. "He
will try and do his job and I will do mine," Valdés continued. "I trust that things will not go
well for him."

Faith in Recre
After stating that Barça's game against Atlético is the main focus this weekend, Víctor Valdés did
admit that he hopes that Recreativo can take something from their game against Real Madrid. The
Barça custodian is good friends with the former Blaugrana player Mario, who now plays for Recre,
and recognised his "winning mentality".
