Despite having recovered from injury and being declared fit to play, Rafa Márquez will continue his rehabilitation work. The Medical Services believe the player should continue exercises to build up the strength of the damaged area.
Rafa Márquez will train in isolation next week. The Mexican is over the injury that has had him
sidelined since April 29, but the Medical Services would like to impose preventative measures. An
announcement made today states “The player has recovered from a 1st degree injury to his
right leg, but the FC Barcelona Medical Services believe he should spend the following week doing
specific work for preventative reasons in order to strengthen the affected area of muscle.”
The injury
Márquez was named in the squad to face Levante on condition that he passed a series of tests
on the morning of the match. But his response to the tests was not as encouraging as had been
expected and the club’s medical experts decided that the player should be given more time
before returning to full-time active duty.
