Ronaldinho: Assists and goals
Sergi Nogueras
Ronaldinho maybe widely known as a creator of goals and skilful playmaker, but this season the Brazilian superstar has showed how effective he can be by scoring a personal record of 19 goals this term.
One of the FC Barcelona player's most famed characteristics has always been his ability to creat
chances for his team-mates. With his vision and incredible technique that allows him to place the
ball wherever he wants and to often produce what can appear impossible. As well as all that,
however, Ronaldinho has maintained a record of a goal every two games during his time at Camp Nou.
With his strike in Vicente Calderón last weekend he took his tally for this term up to 19, to add
to the two he scored in the Champions League and one in the FIFA Club World Cup.
Unique fashion
His 19 goals have all arrived in unique fashion.
A total of 12 have been from a set piece as the number ten has shown that he is one of the best
free-kick takers in the world by scoring five times with a direct shot and he has also proved
deadly from 12 yards, as his eight penalties proves. Ronaldinho has failed to score from the spot
on just one occasion this term, against Sevilla in the Sánchez Pizjuán. He has also scored four
goals with his head, two with his right foot and one with his left.
A complete record
The progress of Ronaldinho's goalscoring in the
league is clear. In his first season with Barça, the former Gremio and PSG ace netted 14, after
strong second half to the campaign. In his second year he only managed to hit nine, but last term
he recovered his form to net an incredible 17 goals for the team. This season, after scoring
against Atlético de Madrid on Sunday, he has taken his account to 19 and will continue to battle
for the Pichichi award until the very end.
In total
If we add all of Ronaldinho's goals for FC Barcelona together
we will see that he has amassed 83. Those goals have come in six different competitions with 60
coming in the league, 13 in the Champions League, four in the Copa del Rey, one in the Spanish
Super Cup, four in the UEFA Cup and one more in the FIFA Club World Cup.
