Rijkaard only thinking about the derby
Anna Segura
Dutch coach, Frank Rijkaard has his sights firmly set on this Saturday’s derby game against Espanyol and not on the other games, which will be played at the same time.
Just one day before the Liga could potentially be decided, Frank Rijkaard believes
“Regardless of what our closest rivals do, we have to work hard in achieving victory. We have
to go out with our heads firmly in the game and ready to make the necessary sacrifices.”
The blaugrana coach recognises that “this Saturday’s game will be important,
however, next week’s games will decide everything.” Rijkaard added “whoever goes
into next week’s games as leader, will have an advantage.”
Márquez, Back in
Rafa Marquez got the all clear this Friday, which comes as good news to Frank Rijkaard due to
Edmilson being out through sanction. However, the coach does not want to put pressure on the
Mexican “he’s ready to play, but I’m not sure how many minutes.” Regarding
Ezquerro “he’s training well lately, he’s finding his rhythm well as he’s
played the last few games.”
Praise for Valverde
Frank Rijkaard has praised Ernesto Valverde in that
“he knows how to mentally prepare his teams. He’s a coach who likes attractive
football.” Rijkaard believes “this will serve as added motivation for us.”
