Back to work
Aleix Santacana/Roger Bogunyà
After a one-day holiday, the FC Barcelona squad returned to La Masia to prepare for the last game of the season in Tarragona on Sunday. Only Ronaldinho and Edmílson were missing.
Apart from the aforementioned Brazilians, the rest of the squad was
there to receive their orders in the first training session of the week. Ronaldinho is following a
specific programme in the gym, while Edmilson is still receiving therapy on his injured knee.
Warm up and a game
After warming up the players spent more than half an hour going through the usual drills,
with Frank Rijkaard joining in
with all of the exercises.
The Dutchman then divided his players into two teams of nine. The yellow team was made up of
Jorquera, Zambrotta, Thuram, Puyol, Sylvinho, Iniesta, Messi, Saviola and Ezquerro, and they faced
off against a blue team featuring Valdés, Belletti, Oleguer, Márquez, Gio, Xavi, Deco, Giuly and
Eto'o.
Giuly and Ezquerro both scored two goals each in a vigorous session.
Motta and Gudjohnsen
Shortly before the end of the session, Motta left to receive treatment
for his minor ankle injury, as had been planned beforehand. Gudjohnsen also left the session early,
with a small spot of bother with his left knee.
